luton-airport-evacuated.jpgA false activation of the fire alarm system at Luton Airport today led to the evacuation of hundreds of staff and passengers from the main terminal while fire crews attended the scene.

According to a spokesperson for the airport, “the fire alarm activation was, in fact, a false alarm and all passengers and staff are now being allowed back into the terminal. Unfortunately, due to the time, it took to investigate the situation there may be some knock-on delays to flights, but our staff will do their utmost to keep disruptions to a minimum.”
